MenuOverview

Build an agent that plays a game for you.

You chat with your agent, and it plays the game for you. It calls tools that press the game’s two buttons: move up, down, left, or right, and say something in the chat. Here, asked to say hi to everyone, the agent walks lil pix across the map and says hi, then walks back.

How the workshop goes

  1. Step 0

    Get set up

A Vercel account, Git, the Vercel CLI, a coding agent, and a backend toolchain.

  2. Step 1

    Build and deploy your agent

Clone the template, have your coding agent write the backend, deploy it, and watch your character show up on the big screen.

  3. Steps 2 to 4

Make it smarter, if you want

Give your agent sight, memory, and durability. All optional. Pick any, in any order.

Building blocks

  • Vercel Services

Ships the chat UI and your agent backend as one project.

  • Functions on Fluid compute

Runs your agent backend. Costs little while it waits on a model.

  • AI Gateway

One endpoint for models from many providers. Your agent thinks through it.

  • Neon Postgres

Remembers what your agent has seen and done.

  • Vercel Workflows

Keeps your agent playing on its own and resumes it after a crash.

  • Vercel Queues

Hands slow work to the background, with retries.

  • Vercel Sandbox

Runs code your agent writes, like a pathfinding script, in an isolated microVM.

  • Vercel Daemons

Processes that keep running between requests, so your agent can stay in the game without waiting to be called.
